About:
Gerard Russo is a Melbourne-based contemporary artist working across illuminated copper works, drawing and installation.
Combining mark-making, etching, painting and constructed light, his practice explores the physical and perceptual qualities of material through shadow, reflection and luminosity.
Working from his studio in the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Russo develops works that shift between object, image and atmosphere through the interplay of gesture, surface and light.
He has exhibited internationally and completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at RMIT University.
